Cookie Policy
What IPPO stores in your browser, why it is needed, and how you can control it.
Current position: IPPO uses essential cookies for authentication, security, and protected share links. The current application does not intentionally set advertising cookies or app-controlled analytics cookies.
1. Overview
Cookies are small values a website stores in a browser and sends with later requests. Local storage and session storage keep values in the browser but are not automatically sent with every request. IPPO uses both to provide sign-in, security, preferences, and product continuity.
This Policy should be read with the Privacy Policy. Cookie names and durations can change when a provider updates its service; the categories and purposes below are the controlling explanation.
2. Essential cookies
| Cookie or provider | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk authentication cookies, including __session and __client_uat | Maintain sign-in state, validate sessions, and protect account access. | Session-based or provider-configured. |
| Clerk or infrastructure security cookies, which can include _cfuvid | Protect authentication infrastructure from abuse and distinguish legitimate requests. | Provider-configured. |
| ippo_share_pw_* | Remember that the correct password was provided for a protected guide link. The value is an HttpOnly verifier, not the password itself. | Until the link expiry when provided, otherwise up to 30 days. |
These cookies are necessary for requested functionality and security. Blocking them can prevent sign-in, protected sharing, or other core features from working.
3. Local and session storage
| Category | Examples | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Appearance | ippo-theme | Remember light, dark, or system theme preference. |
| Workspace views | Project, capture, and search layout preferences | Restore the selected grid, list, filter, or similar view. |
| Recent activity | Recent searches stored on the device | Make it easier to repeat a search. This can be cleared from the product where supported or from browser settings. |
| Onboarding | First-guide and tour progress | Resume or avoid repeating guidance. |
| Temporary workflow state | Stopped processing runs or in-tab selections | Keep a current tab consistent until the tab or session ends. |
| Extension preferences | Theme and recorder interface settings | Keep the browser extension consistent with the user’s choice. |
Local-storage values generally remain until the product or user clears them. Session-storage values normally end when the relevant tab or browser session closes.
4. Analytics and advertising
The current IPPO application does not intentionally set advertising cookies, use cross-site behavioral advertising, or set app-controlled analytics cookies. Operational metrics can be recorded server-side without placing an analytics cookie in your browser.
If IPPO later introduces non-essential analytics or advertising technology, this Policy will be updated and a consent control will be provided where required before those technologies are activated.
5. Your choices
You can delete or block cookies and site data using browser settings. You can also clear extension storage through browser extension controls. Blocking essential cookies may sign you out or prevent protected links from working.
Because IPPO does not currently use targeted-advertising cookies, Global Privacy Control and “Do Not Track” signals do not change advertising behavior in the Service. We will reassess this if our practices change.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy when browser-storage practices or providers change. The effective date identifies the current version.
