A few things to know before your first guide.

You can start with an existing video, edit the result and decide how to share it. Here’s what to expect.

Record a task or upload a video

Record with the IPPO Chrome extension, or upload a video in MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, MKV, or M4V format. Check your workspace for file and storage limits. Some protected content and Chrome internal pages cannot be recorded.

Update the guide when the process changes

Edit the summary, instructions and screenshots whenever you need to. If your team works in another supported language, you can generate a language version too. Check available languages in the app and review the translation before sharing.

Check what you’re sharing and who can open it

Check recordings and screenshots for private information before sharing. You can set a link password or expiry date, or revoke the link. AI processing may send selected frames, text and process details to the configured AI provider.

AI credits cover the generation work

Generating a guide uses AI credits. Editing it yourself and making standard exports do not. Check your balance in Usage & limits; the credits used depend on the processing required, not just the length of the video.

For example: each $0.01 of measured AI processing cost uses 1 credit, rounded up for each charged action. An action costing $0.125 would use 13 credits. Actual usage varies.

How drafts, sharing and access work.

Can I edit the AI draft?

Yes. The draft is your starting point. Change the wording, add notes, and mark up or crop the screenshots. You review the finished guide before sharing it.

How can my team use the finished guide?

Send a guide link for people to read in their browser, export a PDF, or download a Word document they can edit. The options available depend on your plan.

Do recipients need an IPPO account?

Public links do not require an account, but may have a password or expiry date. Members-only links require sign-in and project access. PDF and Word files can be opened without an IPPO account.

Do viewers need a paid seat?

No, under the proposed plans. Paid seats are for people who record, upload or edit guides. People who only read guides are free, as are Team reviewers who only comment or approve. Confirm the plan terms when requesting access.

What uses AI credits?

AI uses credits to generate guides and language versions. Your own edits and standard exports use no AI credits. The amount charged depends on the processing required, so video length alone does not determine the cost.

How does access work?

Request access with your work email. Return with the same email to check your approval status. Once approved, you can create your account. Submitting again replaces your optional details, so include anything you want to keep.
